Air travel log

Flight itinerary template

A flight itinerary template is a compact leg log—departure, arrival, confirmation, and buffers—so airport days on your trip board stay realistic.

How to build a flight itinerary beside your trip plan

  1. List every leg Write airline, flight number, from/to airports, depart and arrive local times, and confirmation code.
  2. Add seat and terminal notes Record seats, terminals, and bag count so the airport morning is not a scramble.
  3. Pad airport buffers On departure days leave 2–3 hours before domestic flights (more if checking bags); on arrival days pad for bags and transit.
  4. Mirror legs on day tabs Create activity cards for “Leave for airport” and “Land + transfer” so the rest of that day is not overfilled.
  5. Print with the trip PDF Keep flight legs with the day board when you Print / Save PDF for offline travel days.

FAQ

Can I track connecting flights?

Yes. Treat each hop as its own leg with its own buffer. On the day board, use separate activity cards for each departure.

Should times be local or home timezone?

Use local airport times on the flight log and on activity cards for that city to avoid missed gates.

Does this book flights?

No. It is an informal log only. Book with your airline or agency, then copy confirmation details into your itinerary notes.
